So we left the Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort and headed down to the Lake Havasu area. Friends of ours, Craig and Darcy Reynolds, whom we met at the Glenwood Hot Springs in Colorado about two months ago own a couple of campgrounds on the Parker Strip, just below the dam of Lake Havasu. They were very kind to us and put us up in one of their campgrounds on the Colorado River / Parker Strip called Sundance RV Resort (also the Outlaws Saloon).

They gave us a spot right on the water:

What a great site! Bear loved being on the water, both playing in it and watching all the activities.

Craig and Darcy were excellent hosts! Not only did they give us a spot, they let us use a golf cart, a pontoon boat, and they took us out for dinner! What wonderful people!

For dinner they took us across the river / lake to their other campground that had a restaurant called the Pirates Den.

Fun place right on the water. The food was yummy and the company was outstanding!

Beautiful sunsets:

The next day we were able to take the pontoon boat out on the water. Bear was in heaven! He loves pontoon boats!

We stopped at Fox’s for lunch and I had a nice club sandwich.

There were a few bucks hanging around! Fun carvings:

Aren’t those cute?

We got the pontoon back (in one piece, yay!) and had a relaxing evening around the Busse Bus.

The following day we drove up to Lake Havasu City for lunch and to look around. We had heard that there were two races going on in the area. One was on land – a Razor (side-by-side) race and a Jet ski race. Check out the crowds as we drove by:

Apparently, the jet ski was invented in Lake Havasu. Unfortunately, we arrived too late to see the jet skis racing.

On the way up to the city, we drove over the dam:

Once we arrived in Lake Havasu City we got to see the London Bridge which provides access to a large island on the lake.

What a fun area! Lots of restaurants and drinking establishments and boat rental spots. We stopped for a drink and took in the views.

On the drive back to Parker Strip, we saw this sign:

And then we saw them:

We did not feed them, nor did we harass them in any way, unless you think taking pictures is harassment.

The next morning we got to see Craig again as he stopped by the Busse Bus:

A great big shout out to Craig and Darcy for all their hospitality! We are looking forward to definitely seeing them again sometime in the future!
