It was another nice drive down to Caldwell as we followed the valley and the river again. Absolutely beautiful! Our DEF low light came on so Katrina and I had to find a gas station so that we could purchase a few gallons to get us through until the next planned diesel fill up. Next to the gas station was a small farmers market that had fantastic looking vegetables! All locally grown to boot.

We stayed at the Ambassador RV Resort outside of the town of Caldwell. What a beautiful place! The pool looked nice, but we didn’t get a chance to try it out. The first evening we stayed in and made some of the corn that we bought – it tasted as good as it looked!

You can see the smoke coming out of the pellet hopper of my replaced Traeger. Not good! Katrina sat on the phone during our next travel day and got them to replace this one as well. To her credit, she also talked them into upgrading our unit to the next level grill – Ranger (about $100 upgrade) for free. Way to go Katrina!

I got to play with Annie, one of Brown’s cats:

Annie is the only cat that I have ever met that when you pet her, she meows!

The following morning, Stan and I went to get our haircut at the local Great Clips. My first haircut from a professional since COVID started. It is very weird to have your hair cut whilst wearing a mask.

We all decided to check out some wineries in the Snake River Valley Sunnyslope Wine Trail. So many places:

We decided to try Huston’s first.

Saw these signs:

We liked the reds.

The next one we went to visit was Ste. Chapelle that was located a few miles down the street. Following our GPS, we went down Chicken Dinner Road until we crossed Drumstick Lane. I’m not kidding:

My GPS took us down Drumstick Lane that was more of a dirt road through the grapevines.

Our view from the top of the dirt road hill looking down at Ste. Chapelle Winery. The other view is looking back at the dirt road – not the one on the right, but the one following the grapevines up on the left. Hilarious!

Look at the dirt/dust on the back of the Brown’s jeep:

While in the winery we had a quick bite to eat and tasted a number of wines. Beautiful location – not so great wines (red):

We headed back into downtown Caldwell at have dinner Amano’s mexican restaurant. Really bueno! Some pictures of the surrounding area:

Stan and I found an ice cream shop for a cone.

Another location in the books. Up and out the next morning.
