We had a short drive that put us in the Billings KOA – the first ever KOA created way back in 1962. (Not quite as old as me and a little older than Katrina).

Nice location! We were able to park side by side again!

The first night Katrina heated up her homemade chicken tortilla soup. Outstanding! I love that soup, although it was a bit hot for soup it tasted great anyway.

Almost every time we entered or exited the KOA we got a treat and saw these:

The following day we drove up to the Four Dances Trail which followed the rim rocks overlooking the valley where Billings is located.

Beautiful sights of the river from the bluff!

After hiking back down to the Ram, we drove over to Pictograph Cave State Park. What a great little find!

In the afternoon we enjoyed playing a round of miniature golf at the KOA.

If you ever run into Stan, please don’t ask him about the 13th hole, he’s still a little touchy on the subject… (Although the rest of us almost peed our shorts – truly ROFL).

That night we made reservations at Jakes. When we got there, we realized that we were at the incorrect Jakes. Oh well, we stayed and ate a wonderful meal.

The appetizer was toasted sourdough bread topped with parmesan cheese that you spread buffalo mozzarella cheese on with a huckleberry sauce. Huckleberry is locally grown berry and makes a yummy sauce. Stan and I also had the ribeye steak – outstanding! Nothing like a Montana steak!

Out the next morning as we were heading up to Livingston, just outside of the Yellowstone National Park where we were going to meet up with the Godfrey’s again.
