I was very excited to roll into Breckenridge, Colorado. The last time I was there was when I went skiing with the Illini Ski Club back in the early 80’s. I remembered how beautiful the town was, lined with gas lamps along Main Street. Oh, and I loved the skiing! I found it very interesting to visit a ski town in the summer. Beautiful in the summer as well!

We stayed at the Tiger Run Resort which is a lot owner establishment. The place was wonderful and very pretty. The lot Katrina booked backed up to the Blue River and it was beautiful! The problem was that we needed to keep Bear away from the edge as it was moving very quickly.

Nice concrete pads with enough space to walk around the Busse Bus is helpful when having to deal with the utilities.

We ventured into the town of Breckenridge and found that Main Street was blocked off to allow the restaurants to have outdoor seating. Great way to have the businesses to be able to partially open.

After our neighbors told us to eat at Aurum, but get there for the half off happy hour. The place was extremely expensive so we arrived at 3:45 – early for the discounts. Glad we took their advice! Outstanding food!!

I’m so glad that we talked with our neighbors. Apparently she works at the ski resorts during season and stays in their cabin at the other side of the resort.

The next day we hiked the Colorado trail where the trailhead started at the back of the resort. We only were able to hike part of it as the entire trail is 486 miles long. It was also dog friendly:

Bear found a long lost cousin!
Can you find the Busse Bus?
So, if I unhook my feet will I go flying like Wyle E. Coyote?

After hiking I was exhausted (probably due to the altitude and not the fact that I’m out of shape) we lounged around for the rest of the day.

Got the bikes ready to roll for a ride into Breckenridge for lunch. What a beautiful bike trail.

We stopped to get a picture of the ski map at Breckenridge (in case we decide to come out in the winter):

We found a nice outdoor restaurant on Main Street called The Canteen. After pursuing the menu, we decided to split a burger and Mac & Cheese with Chorizo. Both very yummy!

The Blue River runs along the bike path (or visa versa). Great place to take Bear to cool off:

Boy, he had a blast! One time he got a little to close to the edge and we thought that he was going to go over the mini falls – we both screamed and yelled for him to come back!

Good thing he minds us pretty well!

The following day we drove to Vail to check it out. We ate lunch at El Segruno.

Wonderful tacos! I had a Korean BBQ and a gyro one. Katrina ordered a chicken and a ahi tuna one. All very tasty!

Walked around the village and really enjoyed it. Very European looking with narrow winding “streets”.

Very German looking!

We stopped by the Vail ski map:

Check out these skiing statues:

We loved Vail! I have never skied there before but I would like to try it sometime.

Breck (Breckenridge) was a wonderful stop! Great scenery, food, RV resort, biking, and hiking. Loved it! But, it’s time to move on. We need to get those last two stickers up on the map.
