On the way to Shelby we stopped for a quick bite at Wheat Montana Bakery.  Real cute place with huge cinnamon rolls and interesting sauces:

I don’t really think that this place was around when Lewis & Clark first charted the area.

We pulled into our reserved site at the Shelby RV Park in Shelby, Montana and plugged in the 50 amp electrical service only to find out that the power was bad.  Thanks to the new electrical surge protector that was one of our purchases at the rally we didn’t fry the electronics on the Busse Bus.  There wasn’t anymore room at this campground so we had to find another RV Park for the evening.

The only one nearby was the Lewis & Clark RV Park that didn’t have very good reviews.  Beggars cannot be choosers I’ve been told.  Booked it and drove over.  Wonderful place with great owners who gave us valuable advice regarding our Glacier National Park visit the next day.

We had to be there by 6:00pm because they were leaving to have dinner with friends.  They recommended the same place to us: Frontier Supper Club.  What?  A Supper Club? Are we in Wisconsin?  Had to go as tonight was prime rib special.  We drove the 12 miles down the road and were a bit surprised at the building:

I know, a bit sketchy.  Since it was recommended we decided to give it a go – glad we did.  I had the prime rib sliced and blackened.  The absolute best prime rib I have ever eaten.  Just goes to show you that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover.

So the RV Park reviews were incorrect and the restaurant was great – just a real good surprising day in all.  The only problem was the mosquitoes.  Thick as molasses and hungry.  Hard to wait for the dogs to poop on a walk without slapping and fidgeting along the way.  Got to train them to poop on command to make my life easier.
