We got the chance to revisit the Myakka River Motorcoach Resort for the third time because Kat got called for jury duty.  Myakka was close enough that if she had to run down to Fort Myers she could.  She was scheduled for Thursday and on Wednesday after 5:00pm they post on their website what numbers need to report.  Kat was number 328 and they called up about 200.  Lucky with numbers both at Disney and with jury duty!

This was our site – 80, right next to the Fratini’s.

And on the lake with watchful eyes on us:

We were also parked across the street from where the Chubbs’ were parked.  Good location on the lake across from the river.  We took them up to the second story of the clubhouse to watch the sunset:

The Fratini’s invited us, the Chubb’s’ and our neighbors on the other side, Mike and Jeanine Serrino over for a home cooked pasta dinner.  Delicious!  Bonnie is quite the cook!

Played pickleball the next morning and that night we had drinks at the Serrino’s place and then dinner with Chubbs – Katrina’s homemade Chicken Tortilla Soup and Shrimp on the BBQ.  Steve wraps his in lemon and alternates with prosciutto – really yummy.

The following day I smoked a 10 pound Boston Butt in the Traeger.  Here’s the different stages:

Talk about delicious!  We used it as the main meal with the Chubb’s’ and the Fratini’s.

As my butt was smoking, the Fratini’s took us and the Chubbs’ to their gun club to shoot clay pigeons.  After teaching us the basics, we tried hitting the birds.

I can tell you that those birds are rascally rabbits!  Shooting was great fun and we will try it again when we come back next year.  We booked four months next season – December 2020 through March 2021.

We were able to take a bike ride with 17 other Myakkians (?) for lunch to the Tiki Bar & Grill:

Shorter ride than the previous time that we were here, but still nice.  The Tiki Bar was overwhelmed and we thought that the food showed it.  Although we have been told that we need to try it again as the food is actually pretty good.  We’ll see…

Started to hear news about a new flu coming out of China called Corona Virus.  People are talking about all the hand sanitizer being sold out of the stores.  I think that people are overreacting.

The town of Englewood has a massive Farmer’s Market on Thursday so we took the Chubb’s there.

Multiple “streets” with vendors lined up along the way.  We were able to get some vegetables and cheese.  Afterwards, we headed to Manasota Key for lunch at the Waverly:

Great lunch!  Yummy food!  Good friends!

When we walked out we stopped to hear a guy playing his guitar and singing.  Of course we got him to play “Turn The Page”!  He even changed the words from “playing star again” to “playing guitar again”.  Cute.

The following evening was the Meet and Greet at the clubhouse.  It was great spending time with these people who will most likely be our neighbors in the future.  We also spent some time with the developers of Myakka – Amber and Ralf discussing what we are looking for in a lot.  Fingers crossed.

So, after visiting 12+ Motorcoach Resorts we are confident that the Myakka River Motorcoach Resort is the one for us.  Once we find the right lot we will be purchasing.  Where exactly is Myakka?

There you are.  Come visit us next season (hopefully)!

Now that it’s June I love your comment back in March that you think the virus out of China is a bit exaggerated LOL. Little did you know when you wrote that…, 😱😂😢
