Holly Point Campground in the Shinleaf Recreation Area on Falls Lake.  Last day of camping is October 31st!  Getting colder up here and we need to start heading south.  Nice place with good spacing between the sites and a beach area.  Since it was late in the year and there weren’t very many campers, we let Bear off the leash and he got to play in the water.  He loves the water!

Whilst taking Bear we ran into Marissa and Ben with their Aussie, Bridgit, whom we met at the campground in Washington, DC.  As the saying goes, “Small world, but I’d hate to have to paint it!”.

Saw Eileen and Rick Follweiler – had dinner at the Gatehouse Tavern in Wake Forest, NC.

We knew Rick and Eileen from our Mundelein days.  Their daughter, Trina and Ari were in the same classes at Lincoln.

The next day it rained most of the day so I was able to catch up on some things like bills.  Kat ran into town to meet up with Leigh Kimball, a gal she worked with at Renegade.

That night the Follweiler’s had us over of a very nice home-cooked meal.

It was great catching up with them.  We even called some other Mundelein friends and got a chance to catch up with them as well!

The rain continued into the next day as we were heading out to the coast of North Carolina.  Eileen was able to stop by the Busse Bus and say goodbye:

One of the best parts about this adventure is meeting up with old friends whom we haven’t had a chance to whilst staying in our home!  Great seeing you Rick and Eileen, perhaps we will meet up again pending our travel plans!
