It was a good thing that we left the FullTimers Rally to get into Syracuse for the International Rally early and boondocked overnight because our slot to drive into our camping spot for the next week was at 7:30am.  The volunteer parking attendants did an awesome job parking the almost 500 rigs pulling in a relatively short amount of time.

Since we boondocked the night before with the other Sea Turtles, we were all parked together which makes it so much easier meeting other people from your Region.

This event was hosted at the New York Fairgrounds in Syracuse, New York.  A venue large enough to handle all these coaches and the complete support staff and vendors assembled.

They had nice memorials for 9/11, the Armed Forces and First Responders.

It was great learning about different aspects of our coach, having Newmar technicians work on our coach, participating in activities, watching the shows, meeting new people and getting re-acquainted with others that we have meet along our journey.

We both attended different classes to learn about the Busse Bus.

What we soon learned was that a few of the classes were run by the vendors trying to hawk their products.  One would say “do this and never do that” and the other one said “do that and never do this”.  Confusing?  Yes.  Some of the other classes were good and we learned valuable information regarding our coach and the care of it.  Kat loved making her Goddess Bracelet and the Stretching class!!

The best class I attended was the pizza making one:

Hope to try out the secrets that I learned one day!

The Newmar technicians fixed a lot of our little issues.  The two best fixes were:

  1. Reattaching my “boo boo” panel over the front right wheel to make it at least look better and not like a poor driver drives the Busse Bus.
  2. The MCD (our day and night-time shades) technician reprogrammed all of our shades and gave us new remotes.

We did a lot of activities including: two nights of Card Bingo (bingo played with decks of cards) and the Poker Run (collected five playing cards from five different vendors) – Kat ran around the first day to get all the sealed envelopes with the cards, but then we forgot to turn them in.  The best activity was entering Bear into the dog competition.  He fell into the “large dog” category and competed in the “Best Trick” and “Best of Show”.  Kat led him through some of his tricks:

And Bear won 2nd place in Best Trick!

So proud of our little boy!

We also enjoyed the entertainment with “An Evening with Scythian”, an Irish band, Bil Lepp, a comedian, and Jimmie Travis, an entertainer with both music and comedy.

Meeting new people and getting re-acquainted with people that we have met along out travels is the best part of attending rallies.  We were able to take Larry out for his birthday:

And we enjoyed meals and fellowship with our friends:

We will see y’all at next year’s International Rally in Wyoming:
