Farewell Sunday Brunch

Good friends of ours have been raving about a great little hole in the wall that serves a mean breakfast for the past couple of years.  Since our days in Illinois were whittling down it was now or never to test their taste in food and validate their claim.

Vinny and Katie Jiuditta picked us up at Fish Lake Beach and then drove us up to Twin Lakes, WI to enjoy one of their favorites: Manny’s Snack Shack.  During the hour drive, they stated that we would probably need to wait outside as it was a little later in the morning, the place was small and a lot of people would be there.  As we arrived we were delighted at first that the parking lot was empty, then we noticed a “closed” sign on the front window.

However we could smell bacon and the backdoor was ajar.  Vinny hopped out to check it out and then motioned for us to come in.  Manny himself was there preparing to re-open his snack shack the next day.  It was temporarily closed because Manny had his hip replaced.  Vinny laid it on thick and Manny agreed to make us breakfast to go.  We waited at the counter and Manny prepared us anything that we wanted and asked us to sit.  We stayed there for about two hours enjoying whatever Manny wanted to make for us to try.  I’m not so sure that Vinny only used his charm to get us in, he might of slipped Manny something on the side…

Thanks Manny!  Food was amazing!  If you are ever in Twins Lakes, WI or within an hour’s drive, as Mikey said in the old TV ads: “Try it you’ll like it”.  Don’t remember what Mikey was hawking.
