The Hausauers visit Myakka

Rhody and Barry Hausauer, friends of ours from the Chicago suburbs, decided to drive over from Palm Beach in their coach and visits with us for a few days. We hadn’t seen them in over a year and it was high time that we got together! They got a site right next door to us!

It was great seeing them and their dog Ruger, who over the past year has become blind. It doesn’t seem to bother him a whole lot as Rhody keeps on eye out for any obstacles that may come in his path.

On the first evening we went down to the boardwalk to catch the sunset:

It was beautiful!

We talked Mike & Beth Poorman and Cub & Marge Stewart to join us for dinner at Prime Serious. The steakhouse that the Hausauer’s and us love to dine at every time they come to visit.

Now that’s a drink!

The next day we decided to head to another one of our favorite restaurants, South Beach in Boca Grande. What a great meal and so much fun that we forgot to take a picture!

From there we checked out another place that Katrina and I had never been to, The Eagle Grill and Miller’s Dockside at the Boca Grande Marina.

We only had a beverage at the bar inside. Then we parked in the downtown area and checked out all the stores (ok, there’s not that many).

The next day we chilled and ate in.

Rhody and Katrina really made some wonderful foods! Yummy!

Katrina and I took them to see the Wellen Park area. Wellen Park is a new community being developed with multiple housing options and a downtown area that has shops and restaurants. We did a little pub crawl stopping at the Oak & Stone, the Banyan House Restaurant, and then to Villani & Co. for dinner.

That night Wellen Park was hosting music on the lawn area.

We stayed and listened for some time.

The next day we relaxed at the pool before heading into Punta Gorda to see the Elks Lodge (it’s a large tiki hut) and to have dinner at the Winesett House.

Another wonderful meal for our final night together!

The following day Barry, Rhody and Ruger headed home. It was so nice to have them visit and to catch up on life!
