After making the big trek back to Camp Reinberg, we got set up back in the same spot that we had vacated five days earlier.

Unbelievably the place looked exactly the same! Spent the day relaxing!

Friends of ours (from our Mundelein days) swung by on Saturday for a drink.

Scott & Linda Black and Hope Dolan with her boyfriend Kim were somewhat in the area and dropped by. So good to catch up with them! We moved out of The Fields of Ambria in 2006 which meant that we weren’t neighbors for almost two decades. Of all of our friends there, Scott and Linda were the last to move out – last week as a matter of fact!

We got some bike riding in as Katrina’s knee was healing and the riding hurt her, but also did her good! I discovered a new path and was able to ride around 30 miles – it felt good!

I took Bear for a walk down the bike path and he got to see a deer.

Dear Bear, on a dare would you have a beer with a bare deer? Sorry, obviously I’ve been reading a lot of children’s books lately. 🙂

The next day we were able to catch up with other friends, Peter and Maureen Acker, for dinner at the Half Day Brewing.

It was great seeing them and getting caught up with their lives and travel plans!

We were also able to meet up with Katrina’s pickleball partner, Bev and her husband Todd at Main Street Social the following evening.

The joint looked the same, but we didn’t feel that the food was as good as it used to be. It was great catching up with them! Although I think that this was the first time that I’ve seen Bev in street clothes.

The next morning we headed out to Michigan. We were a bit sad as we realized that this was probably our last time visiting the area because Ari and Matt have moved away.

Just caught up on your travels. So fun to see some of the old neighbors, your adorable grandson and you two loving your life. Glad to hear Katrina’s knee is rehabbed. Have a great summer. Best of luck to Ari and Matt!
