We needed to get down to Lewisville (outside of Dallas) to have work done on the Busse Bus at National Indoor Recreation Vehicle Center (NIRVC).

They had fixed our floor tiles a couple of years ago and the grout had broken up so they fixed it for free. However, we had other work done that cost us plenty. Since we couldn’t be in the coach as the floors were being done we had to find a place that would accommodate Bear as well. Katrina found a house through Marriott:

We were surprised when we pulled up! What a splendid place, not! They called it a Trottage – trailer cottage. The inside was better:

However it cost as much as a hotel room and gave Bear room to roam inside and in the fenced in yard.
Katrina found a place to play some pickleball while I took Bear on a long walk through Westlake Park. The park is past its heyday and obviously in decline. That’s upsetting as it could and should be a wonderful place along Lewisville Lake.
We drove over to the Safari Waters Ranch in LaRue to visit with Christy and Mike Holevinski, Keenan’s fiancé’s parents. They live in a wonderful community that keeps wildlife roaming freely throughout the development. Check out these animals we saw while tooling around in their golf cart:

The Pierre David Deer are from China and there are only 500 in the world! They are on the endangered species list. What a concept for a neighborhood!
For dinner they took us (including Bear) to the Boathouse Bar and Grill on Lake Athens. Here’s us on the drive over:

We had a wonderful meal and got a better chance to get to know them. Wonderful place, food, and company! Thank you both for dinner!
During dinner we heard from Brandon at NIRVC regarding the Busse Bus. Turns out that the broken third air conditioner only needed to get some bolts reattached! The tile grout replacement was coming along and the coach should be ready by Wednesday. They also looked at our dash AC only to inform us that the fix would be $2,200. We passed on that cost and will have to sweat it out until we get back to Myakka. Speaking of Myakka, our casita caretaker called to let us know that the AC there was acting up. Called our contracted maintenance company and they came out to fix it. AC is very important when you are consistently in hot weather.
The following day we did a repeat of the previous morning and then went to meet Mike and Cindy (another BeautiControl gal) Least for lunch at Marty B’s for BBQ.

What a wonderful place with excellent BBQ!

It was great seeing them again and getting caught up on each other’s lives.
They had to get back to work so Katrina and I stopped at the Marty B’s Ice Cream Shop. Very good homemade ice cream!
We headed back to the Trottage to pack up as the Busse Bus was ready. When we got there we inspected the grout work and did not like the result. We asked them to redo some of the tiles which meant we couldn’t leave until the afternoon the next day.
Since we still had the Trottage rented until 10am we headed back over there to pass the time. We offered to start the sheets and towels for the cleaners so that we could stay until noon. That worked out very well!
On the way back to NIRVC we stopped for lunch at Torchy’s Tacos:

We love Torchy’s!
Got back to NIRVC, paid and headed out to San Antonio to see Keenan and Sarah. With a 4.5 hour drive ahead and leaving at 2pm, it was going to be a late arrival for sure!
