Once Rylan was born we still had a few weeks planned to be in the Chicago area. Good thing because we were able to see him often, make Ariana and Matt dinner (or get take out), occupy their dog Kylo, play some games, and get some of our laundry done.

Over the weekend our son Keenan was able to join us and see Rylan.

We got out for a bike ride with our old neighbors, Maureen and Peter Acker. We met them at their house in Lake Bluff and had a nice ride down for breakfast at That Little French Guy – French Bakery and Cafe in Highland Park.

Great seeing them again! We used to ride with them every weekend when we lived nearby.

One evening I picked up food from Yu’s Chinese Restaurant and as I was waiting I witnessed these robots delivering food:

Crazy! I guess that is one way to lower your employee overhead.

For lunch the next day we were able to meet up with Sheila Osborne at The Village Squire in McHenry. It was a place that was roughly situated about halfway between us. Katrina had met Sheila years ago when they both sold BeautiControl. So much fun to catch up with her and bummed we forgot to get a picture!

Since we were parked once again at Camp Reinberg for a five day stint I took some pictures of the place and the Busse Bus:

We met up with Ariana, Matt and Rylan (it seems weird writing three names now) to go to Didier Farms and get Rylan his first pumpkin.

We had a great time walking around and picking out pumpkins! However, the place was very crowded so we decided to head over to Buffalo Creek Brewing in Long Grove. Mama Ariana wanted a beer! They had an Oktoberfest going on with seasonal beers.

They even had a scarecrow making area! How cool is that?

The next day we had to move since our five days were up and Katrina found a nearby Harvest Host called Tighthead Brewery where we could spend the night.

She actually talked them into letting us stay for two nights which was a hard thing for her to do because they were having a wedding reception and were closed. She does work magic!

We went in and had a beer and while we were there Katrina noticed that they were having a coloring contest for one of their labels. Of course she had to color:

So if you see this on a beer label you know the artist! While she was coloring I ran over to Franks For the Memories to grab some famous buffalo wings. Great food, great beer and great coloring! Hope she wins!

Katie Juidutta (friend) stoped by for a few hours to catch up on life. Unfortunately we forgot to get a picture!

While we were at Ariana’s the next day I saw a fox walking across their neighbors lawn and then it went into their backyard:

Wild seeing him so close up.

While everyone was taking a nap I headed over to the Perfect Brew to pick up some brewing kits to make once we get back to the Myakka River Motorcoach Resort at the end of the month.

The Perfect Brew has been suppling my brewing needs for about ten years. After another fun day hanging out with the Anderson’s we said our goodbyes. It’s going to be hard not seeing little Rylan for a few months.

That evening we met up with Kathleen and Greg Jaroch, friends of ours from Libertyville. We had dinner at Tina G’s for Italian cruising.

Nice catching up with them!

The next morning we had to leave and it was sad leaving Rylan (and Ariana and Matt too).
