We left the Stewarts’ Peaceful Shallows and headed over to the Delaware coast to visit with our friends, Kevin and Kathleen Fluharty. On the way we stopped in Hockessin, DE to have lunch with our Myakka next door neighbors, Jamie and Chris Mosberg. We parked at their church and Jamie drove us (including Bear) over to their house where Chris had prepared a wonderful spread.

Jamie and Chris Mosberg – Lot 98 Owners in MRMR

Great stop and it was nice catching up with them.

From there we still had a few hours of driving until we reached Sun Outdoors Rehoboth Bay, formerly Massey’s Landing where we stayed a few years ago. Check out our site right on the water:

After getting set up, the Fluhartys stopped by and we walked over to the Paradise Bar located on property. Had a couple beers and appetizers while listening to a guy play his guitar and sing.

He was good! Mashed up Turn the Page for us!

He played ”Turn the Page” for us.

The next morning Katrina played pickleball and then she picked me up and we headed over to the Fluharty’s for a home-cooked meal of lentil stuffed peppers and shrimp creole. Afterwards, Katrina had a wonderful massage and Kevin and I hit the swim-up pool bar at our resort. After getting cleaned up, we all headed to the Bluecoast Seafood Grill & Raw Bar for a great seafood dinner.

Kathleen (Shakes), Kevin (Flounder), me, and Katrina – CHEERS!

We got to hear the tail end of a woman singing:

Fantastic singer!

She was outstanding!

The following day I had a massage in the morning and then drove out to the Atlantic Ocean and met everyone else for a beach day at Keybox. Kevin drove onto the beach with his truck and brought his grill and cooked out while fishing.

Bear loved playing on the beach and in the water. Kevin caught a small fish that Bear needed to check out:

Kevin, put it back in the ocean and I’ll chase it out into the sea!

Afterwards we went to Hammerheads Dockside for drinks and appetizers.

Great place!

There was a Greatful Dead tribute band playing

Lousy band!

that wasn’t very good.

We were able to ride bikes the next day and headed over to Lewes and the Cape Henlopen State Park near where President Biden fell on his bike a few weeks prior. We stopped at Grain On The Rocks for a quick bite to eat with a beer.

The place is located in the Lewes Ferry Terminal that goes to Cape May in New Jersey which is across the Delaware Bay. Later on we stopped at the Revelation Craft Brewing for a beer and pizza.

To relax that evening we ”cooked” in their hot tub.

After a long day sitting with my buddy

The next day we went over to friends of theirs, Kenny and Anne’s, beach house.

Beautiful beach house!

We spent the afternoon sitting on the beach. On the drive back with stopped at Fins Ale House & Raw Bar for dinner and were joined by their daughter, Maxine and her boyfriend Mason.

The following day we had lunch at the Fluhartys – wonderful crab cakes that Kevin picked up and homemade jambalaya that Kathleen made. I had another massage. We met up up again later to have dinner at the Paradise Grill located on the Indian River Bay.

Cheers!

This place is unreal with the amount of activities they have! Really set up for a younger crowd, but on a Monday we fit right in.

For our final full day visiting, Kevin arranged for us to take out Kenny and Anne’s pontoon boat where we cruised around Rehoboth Bay.

Relaxing on the water!

We cruised along the shore of where the Busse Bus was parked and got to see it from the water:

We stopped for lunch at the Rusty Rudder.

Great location and a good place to stop for refreshments!

Nice stop that got us off the water for a bit. We then cruised up the Lewes & Rehoboth Canal to look at the houses. This canal was built during World War II as a means to transport naval ships and supplies between the bays without going out into the Atlantic Ocean as German U-Boats patrolled the area.

After stowing the pontoon we headed back to the Fluhartys to play some games and we ordered a pizza. Great evening and a good way to end our visit.

The next morning we packed up and headed out to our next destination, Williamsburg.

Thank you Kevin and Kathleen for a wonderful stop and visit!
