We left Salt Lake City in the rain heading north up to Idaho. The good news is that the windshield wiper that I installed worked flawlessly! After about 70 miles into our 260 mile day, a trucker went passed us motioning to us that something was wrong. Not a good feeling! We pulled over on the side of the expressway and saw this:

A blowout! I didn’t even feel it. Good thing that trucker flagged us! We were about two miles south of a town called Tremonton and I found a commercial tire company called, Archibald that had one tire that fit our rig (315/80 R22.5). I drove really slow half on the shoulder with the hazard lights blearing all the way to their store. Good thing that the blowout was on the outside wheel on the dualie.

They were able to replace the tire and we were back on the road in less than an hour. Talk about lucky! Big shoot out to Brad, our installer and Jeff in the office. Unexpected stop that cost us $729.00!

Ae we continued out trek north we were very happy to see this sign:

Our second favorite state!

We pulled into the Harvest Host – Y Knot Winery for the evening.

A beautiful place! Here’s our spot nestled next to the vines:

I had to take this picture of this varietal:

Why don’t you dance with me, I’m not no Limburger….B-52’s lyrics. Not only a winery, they also offered a golf course, a campground and a restaurant. We decided to taste the wine before having a dinner. The wine was pretty good, but we didn’t buy a bottle. The meal was decent, but the service was awful! I don’t think that our server was to blame, but they were understaffed. Sign of the times!

Katrina got a chance to play with Bear on the rough of the fairway. He really enjoyed real grass! Afterwards we watched more of the Olympics. I don’t know what we are going to do once they are over.

The next morning we headed out to Oregon.
