We drove a whole 36 miles from Vernal up to Flaming Gorge. And when I type up, I mean up. We needed to drive over a pass in the Ashley National Forest that at it’s summit was 8600 feet. We decided not to tow the truck in order to decrease the strain on the Busse Bus. The good news is by doing that, Katrina was able to take these pictures of my rear-end:

What a good looking rig!

We pulled into the Pine Forest RV Park and decided not to get fully hooked up as we would be departing the following morning. The park was nice with large sites nestled between ponderosa pines. Check it out:

After we got leveled, it started to rain so we just hunkered down within the coach. Once it lightened up, we took Bear and drove down to the Flaming Gorge Dam and Visitors Center with a nice bridge nearby:

We walked down to the water where we were able to let Bear swim a bit.

He loves the water! We drove back to the RV Park and while Katrina made dinner I washed the bugs off the front of the coach. Loads of bugs smeared everywhere! Yuck, it took a lot of elbow grease.

After that I took Bear for a walk and he found this trail that he just needed to explore:

Once we got back, Bear lounged by the coach while Katrina and I ate dinner. An easy night of watching TV and relaxing.

On the drive out the next morning up to Lander, WY to meet our Myakka friends Katrina got these pictures of the dam:
