On the drive down from Stoneridge to McCall on US Route 95 we got to see the amber waves of grain:

I didn’t know that Idaho had so much farm land. I thought that maybe we would see a lot of potato fields, but not as much other types of crops.

After a while, we dropped into the Salmon River Valley and so these great sights:

We drove passed the downtown area of McCall that sits on the Payette Lake and stayed at Black Bear RV Park. Black Bear RV Park is under new ownership and they are making marked improvements, adding new sites and fencing. Our sites were overhung with branches that needed to be trimmed before we could fully pull in.

On the mountains behind the park a lightning strike started a fire a few days earlier. There were many fires in the area and we were in smoked filled skies for many days.

Since McCall looked so quaint we decided to have dinner downtown and we ended up at the Shore Lodge and were able to eat outside.

And we finally found that elusive moose:

After a wonderful meal (I had the French dip and it was yummy!) we headed back to the coaches as we were planning on traveling the next morning.
