We drove down from the Archview campground to Canyonlands National Park and entered through the Island in the Sky Visitor Center on the north side of the park.

We drove until the road ended at Grand View Point Overlook and hiked out to the tip following the rim:

And my personal favorite:

On the drive back we stopped at the Orange Cliff Overlook and Buck Canyon Overlook. Honestly, the pictures are similar that I might have commingled them together with the Grand View photos. It’s very difficult to realize the majestic views through these pictures – in person the vistas are truly breathtaking!
We took the Y in the road to the northwest to stop at Upheaval Dome and the Whale Rock. After viewing the hikes, we decided not to roam around (as Bear was in the truck) and headed to Mesa Arch.

Beautiful arch overlooking the canyon!
Exiting Canyonlands National Park was the most exciting aspect of our entire trip for the day. We decided to take Shafer Trail that round down the side of the canyon and then took us across a mesa that eventually brought us to the Moab area. These pictures do not convey the real beauty:

Scary descent! Katrina drove and as the passenger I can tell you that without holding onto the steering wheel it is very taxing. Glad that we made it down – alive! BBT (BusseBus Toad) handled it like a rock star!!
We passed the Potash plant and took these photographs:

Stunning! The Shafer Trail was the best part of Canyonlands. Thank you Kevin Falkenthal for telling us about it. I highly recommend conquering it!
