We stayed at the organic farm called Together Farms in Eau Claire, WI. They raised cattle, hogs and sheep.
They had a field where they allowed us Harvest Hosts participants park – but it wasn’t big enough to turn into and get between the gates. Therefore we parked in front of the barn. See us in the picture? We are almost bigger than the barn! We will place a comment with Harvest Hosts that they should limit the size of the patron’s rigs.
We were lucky enough to be there when they reopened their “Wine Night”.
Which included their organic meat, a chef who prepared a four course meal all paired with different wines.
- First Course: Beef in chimichurri sauce paired with Astica Malbec. They told us that the beef was “Whole Steak”. If you don’t know what Whole steak is you are not alone. We found out – beef heart! Not my fav…
- Second Course: Roast Corn Salad paired with District 7 Chardonnay. Tasted a lot like Elote – Mexican Street Corn.
- Third Course: Ribeye Beef Tips paired with District 7 Cabernet. Yummy!
- Fourth Course: Apple Pie with Cheese paired with Wollersheim Dry Riesling. Loved the pie and drank the wine that I didn’t really appreciate.
Here’s the details:
We could also grab a drink at the Woodshed Tavern:
We bought two bottles of wine and a lot of the organic meat (regular stuff, no heart)! Great stop!
