We drove up to the Great Outdoors RV Resort in Franklin, TN to hunker down for the next month.
Franklin is located basically in the middle of the Smokey Mountains. No Corona here! Good for us! After reviewing these pictures, I’ve realized why they call them the Smokey Mountains:
Right next door there was a another RV Park with Lots for sale called Sunset Ridge. We had never heard or it until we saw it! Not a bad place, take a look:
Nice views!
We had to attend our Camp Freightliner on-line due to the virus.
Not a bad way to sit during a class!
A bit chilly up in the mountains, but we made do:
So, what do you do in a campground whilst doing nothing?
Jigsaw puzzles:
Cooking:
Had an issue with the Traeger Scout – it couldn’t keep a constant temperature and had a major flare up! I sent pictures of the heat peeled paint and Traeger sent me a new grill!
Love my Traeger! What a great company!
Hiking:
Look there, we hiked a very small portion of the Appalachian Trail!
Added “Maps” to this blog! Very cool! Check it out on the home page!
Maintenance on the Busse Bus:
Washed the truck. Cleaned and waxed the Busse Bus roof.
Sanitized the fresh water tank. Put protectant on all the gaskets. Cleaned all the bays.
Washed and put protectant on all slide toppers and awnings:
Unfortunately, I found a small defect in the material.
Scrubbed the floor:
Cleaned all the fans and screens. Changed all water filters. Oiled awning track. Gave myself a haircut (sorry, no pictures!). Cleaned all air conditioning filters. Washed the Busse Bus and touched up the paint. Gave Bear a bath. Installed screens on the drivers window and the emergency window in the bedroom:
Now we can open more windows without bugs to get a better cross breeze in the coach.
Kat made bracelets for herself and then decided to make them for friends! Corona bracelets:
Installed a water softener and de-ionizer to wash and and provide a spot free rinse:
Mounted them in front of the generator. Sure will save time when washing the rig and truck! Thanks Mom for the early birthday gift!
Celebrated Ari’s birthday via Zoom:
Watched TV series – Tiger King (amazed at some people), The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (really good and funny), The Mandalorian (baby Yoda is so cute), as well as catching up on a lot of shows and some movies (bad idea to watch Contagion!).
With time on my hands, I sure miss having a house that I can tinker around in doing projects. Although I found things to do around the coach. For the third time during our travels, I really miss having our old place. The other two being Christmas time and during Ari’s And Matts wedding.
The Busse Bus is getting itchy – time to roll!

Hey guys this is Mike Serrino from Myakka. Glad to hear your safe and well. We are still in Florida waiting for it to stop raining in TN so much. We were a little thrown off when we read your post that you were in Franklin TN (south of Nashville). Couldn’t picture where you were. You are just over the mountain in NC from us in Knoxville. Understand your plans are in limbo after NC, but hopefully we will be back in TN if you would have time to stop in our area . Also, if you haven’t been yet, you might want to visit Mountain Falls Motorcoach resort in Lake Toxaway NC. It is not far from where you are East on 64. Beautiful views from the lots on top lots. Also Brevard is a neat little town if the restaurants open back up.
Stay safe and well.
Mike
