We pulled into the Spartanburg / Gaffney KOA and had a new experience.  While checking in I had to stay six feet away from the countertop.  When they needed my credit card, the KOA employee stepped back away from the counter six feet so that I could step up and sign the receipt.  There was tape on the floor showing where you could stand.  I guess it’s a brave new world.

The KOA was pretty nice with great walking because it was big and there was a nice size dog park.  KOA calls them Kamp K-9 in each park.  There were also three ponds to catch and release.  Here’s our spot (even the RV’s we’re practicing social distancing):

Drove the Busse Bus over to the Freightliner Service Center in Gaffney to get the annual maintenance taken care of on the chassis and with the generator.  The building was locked and you had to knock on the window to get the receptionist’s attention to open the door.  Since we had an appointment we were allowed to leave the Busse Bus there to get the work done.  Good timing because they closed the service center the following week.

Gaffney is in the midst of peach country – you know how I know?

Lucky guess, I guess?

We had signed up to attend the Camp Freightliner class to learn more about the chassis of the Busse Bus.  It was supposed to occur in a classroom, but due to COVID-19 it was changed to be on-line via Zoom.  What a great class, even virtually!  The biggest thing that I learned was that we should always take the Busse Bus to a Freightliner service center to get the chassis maintenance done – annually!  Don’t let coach builders or sales centers do the work – take it to the experts!  Will do.

In the midst of all this craziness, Kat had a birthday.

Very different type of birthday this year.  We had a great Zoom conference with the kids and the Fluharty’s.

Got to sing “Happy Birthday” and have a toast.  For dinner I made lobsters on the grill – yummy!

Happy Birthday, babe!  Hopefully next year we will be able to go out and celebrate your day at a fancy restaurant, although I’m not sure if the dinner would be better!
