Stayed at the Sarasota Sunny South again.  Close location to Siesta Key and other area attractions.  It’s nice just relaxing at a place and not trying to get the vibe, costs, HOA fees, amenities, etc.  Met some of the neighbors who invited us over for happy hour.  Nice getting to know them as most of the people here rent these spaces for an entire year.

On the first full day there we met up with Brad Anderson for lunch at the Siesta Key Oyster Bar.

A very fun place with fairly good food.  Afterwards we headed to Brad’s house to enjoy some wine.

One thing led to another and before you knew it, Brad and I tied one on!

The next morning I was moving like Uncle Joe from Petticoat Junction!  We had lunch with my cousins, Curt and Vicki Miller at The Shore in St. Armands.  Excellent food!  Saw this sculpture on the way:

Curt and Vicki were down in Florida for vacation, getting away from the Illinois cold.

Then shopping in St. Armands with drinks at Venezia.

Since Kat and I rarely go out to see movies anymore, we decided to try to see some that were up for awards since we were very close to an AMC Theater.  Went saw 1917 which we liked.

The next evening we had dinner at Nepule with Brad and Kelly and their friends John and Joyce, who also own a motorcoach and are from Springfield IL.  What wonderful Italian food, particularly because Kat and I don’t eat Italian very often.  Very nice evening,

The following day we had lunch with Yota and Derek Guile whom we met in Bala Canada at Venezia in St. Armands.

It is wonderful keeping up with people we meet along the way!  This lifestyle really lends itself to reconnecting with people while traveling.  While walking back to out truck, we ran into this guy:

It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round- mine just tilted a bit!

That evening back at the AMC we saw Parasite.  Not at all what I thought the movie was about.  Truly enjoyed it!  Especially the part when….not gonna to ruin it for you!

The next evening we drove up to Bradenton to have dinner with Dmitry Goldenberg and his wife, Vita.  Dmitry was a colleague of mine when I worked at MAT Holdings.  We met at Thai Wasabi because is was halfway between us.  Strip mall place that was crowded, always a good sign.  Great food:

Great catching up with them!  Best of luck settling into the Floridian lifestyle!

The following day we had brunch with Brad at the Dutch Valley which is your typical Greek restaurant.

Good meal.  Nice seeing Brad.  Until next year!

Afterwards we took Bear to Venice Beach to play in the waves.  He loved it.  What a great park!  Bear had a blast!

Pack up the next morning to head back to Myakka and join Laurie and Steve Chubbs for a week.  Last chance to insure that was the place for us!
