Only three miles away from Pelican Lake sits Naples Motorcoach Resort.  It took an hour to pack up the Busse Bus, five minutes to make the drive, and one hour to set up the Busse Bus in our new location.

The place was beautiful!  The clubhouse sits up front with an infinity pool behind it overlooking a beach on the lake.  Beautiful!

Quite the grand entrance.

And the sites are nice too.

The best part about coming here was that we were going to meet up with Steve and Laurie Chubbs and Frank and Mary Busalacchi.  Some of the same people that we met at the Newmar International Rally in Gillette, WY and again for New Year’s celebration at Fort Wilderness in Walt Disney World.

We all got to go out for meals a couple of times:

Once for Mexican at a local dive in a strip mall called Molcajetes that had pretty good food.

Once at our coaches where we met Dan and Sarah Allen who were on the Alaskan Caravan with Frank and Mary.

And at Mangoes down on Marco Island.

Because we had friends at the resort we really didn’t get a good feeling about the place.   Probably unfair for the resort.  It did check a lot of our boxes, but the Naples area is crowded during season and it’s hard to get around – to the beach and out for dinner unless you make reservations.  We did tell Laurie and Steve that we were thinking about buying a lot at Myakka and they decided to book a week there when we go back.

The double-checking regarding our desire to purchase a lot in Myakka continues.  Since we were at day number 29, we cancelled our lot in Golden Palms.
