What’s a toad?  In the RV World, it is the vehicle that you tow.  A towed (toad).

Drove over to the Tampa area and stayed at Lazy Days so that we could check out a number of Ram 1500’s at different Ram dealers.  First up, Jim Browne as they had a few that looked good on their website.  The best part was that Jim Browne extended the employee pricing to the 2020’s as their inventory of 2019’s was being depleted.  We never made it over to any other dealer!  The one we finally decided on had just got off the cargo truck that day and still had the plastic protective covering on it.

Kat really liked the two-toned interior and all the electronics (larger viewing screen, park assist, lane assist, etc.). I liked the Ram Boxes where I can store cleaning supplies and my tools.  We both liked the split tailgate for easy access to the truck bed.

Even Bear enjoys the bigger space – and loves sticking his head out the back window:

The Ram is much bigger than the Jeep was (by about six feet).  Next to the Busse Bus:

Since it’s longer and weighs more than the Jeep did, we now need to get a stronger tow hitch.

Note to self:  Always get the largest size of anything coach related as it will give you flexibility and save money in the long run!

We also want to cover the bed so that we can use it for additional storage.  I plan on putting outdoor stuff in there – things like the Traeger, Solo Stove and beach chairs.  Should open up the garage of the coach.

We negotiated an outstanding price for the vehicle with trading our Jeep Wrangler in!  That employee pricing was fantastic!  The only aspects that I didn’t get covered was a full tank of gas.  Who would have believed that it won’t be delivered with only $20.00 worth of gas in it!  The Busse Bus came with a full tank – 150 gallons.

No need to visit any of the other Ram Dealers in town.

We hit a little snafu.  There were two identical Ram trucks that were delivered to Jim Browne at the same time.  The paperwork was filled out with the wrong VIN.  Therefore, when I got insurance for the one in my possession it didn’t match what the dealer sent into the state.  We had to resign the paperwork remotely and update our insurance company.  What an ordeal!

Thanks Russ. I’m a bit behind on my posts – been having too much fun (and also I had some technical difficulties with the site). Hope all is well with you.
