Stayed outside of Savannah at the Creekside RV Resort. A very nice place that is currently expanding to add another 100 sites.
A nice heated pool, hot tub outdoor fireplace and shelter with an outdoor kitchen. How about a nice game of chess?
Can anyone name the movie?
There is a restaurant located next to the lake at the back of the property. It was only open Thursday through Sunday so we ran down for a drink.
Toured Savannah by trolley where they had actors hop on and hop off the trolley and give us an insightful history lesson. Forest Gump, Johnny Mercer – (kids, look him up), and Juliette Gordon Low – founder of the GSA.
Wonderful city. Loved all the green spaces. Got to see Forsyth Park where they filmed Forest Gump sitting on the bench (with a chocolate box).
Saw a great t-shirt and took a picture of it!
Went to the North Historic District (City Market) for lunch and to looked around.
What a wonderful fun place to shop and spend the day. Saw this potential Christmas gift:
Afterwards, we headed down to the riverfront where the original buildings still stand. Traversing the cobblestone streets and very steep staircases were difficult.
Had drinks at the Bohemian Hotel at Rocks on the Roof, then dinner at Vic’s On the River.
Great views! Good drinks (although the service wasn’t) and good food.
Visited Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) which is growing like crazy and building unique spaces. Our favorite was SCAD Beach.
A nice place to relax and have some fun for the college students. They created this space inside an old building that was falling down – saving the external walls – very creative!
Saw the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.
Beautiful cathedral!
Whilst walking around we stumbled into a store selling furniture and odds and ends that were all made out of cork. Very interesting! Perhaps we can find some unique Christmas gifts here:
For dinner we headed to the Olde Pink House, which is in an historic house. The place was packed, but we found the bar and we were able to get some food there. Excellent!
More new vehicle shopping. I’m sure that we have narrowed it down to the RAM truck. The Wrangler and Gladiator seemed like they would bounce us around as much as our current two door Jeep. The Grand Cherokee seems a bit small. Good thing is that we have it narrowed down. Now to find the right one with the equipment that we want so that I can have fun and start negotiating a purchase price. I love that process!
We asked some locals where we should grab a quick place to eat and we had numerous people tell us Flaco’s Tacos just down the street from the campground. We drove by the place and it looked shabby, but we went in:
While we were waiting for our order, Katrina signed the wall.
The food was pretty good. Fast and cheap as well. We took it back to Creekside because there was a guy playing the guitar outside near the pool. Pretty cold so there wasn’t many people listening, maybe eight. Sat through a set and got him to play “Turn the Page”. A theme of ours?

Just catching up on the blog. Answer to your trivia question: Wargames. Incidentally, my cousin works at SCAD.

I’d give you one, but I’m practicing social distancing at the moment!
