“Niagara Falls!  Slowly I turned….step by step…..inch by inch…..”  Can anyone tell me the origins for that one?

We stayed at the Niagara Falls, ON KOA.

Very nice place, that unfortunately, we didn’t get a whole lot of time to enjoy.

This was the first time that I have reached the falls from the Canadian side before the United States side.  Completely different feel – better.  We didn’t have much time after setting up because we were driving across the border (much easier in a car) to meet up with Vinny and Katie for drinks / snack at Wine on Third.

Vinny and Katie where in Buffalo visiting family.  After snacks and a drink, we visited the Overlook and Terrapin Point.

I’m not sure why they wanted me to deposit my butt there, but (pun intended) I obliged.

Drinks then at the Top of the Falls restaurant with beautiful views of the horseshoe falls.  Then had to go to The Anchor to get some authentic Buffalo Wings from the place that started them.

The Canadians have a fireworks display every night at 10pm and we hurried back to catch them.  We got there about 10:04pm and saw some of them through the trees and almost ran to the clearing.  By the time we got there (at 10:06pm) the fireworks were over.

The next day we headed to the wineries in Niagara Lake area that allowed dogs, NOT!  Used to but then Ontario changed laws.

Riverview Cellars – icky, not my taste.  Inniskillin Estate – Not too bad.

Tried the “Ice Wines” – bought couple of bottles.  Ice wine is made from the frozen on-vine grapes.  Yield is much less, therefore more grapes are needed and it is more expensive.  Good after dinner wine.

Headed out to see a few attractions on the Canada side of the falls.  Hit “Journey Behind the Falls” which are tunnels that lead you to see the backside of water.  Our kids reminded me that this saying is from the Jungle Cruise ride at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.  Thanks kiddos!

Kinda looked like the frontside of water to me.

Off to see the movie “Fury of Niagara” which was very interesting as it showed the evolution of Niagara.  Floors shook, rain, snow, splashes – all realistic.

Then down the incline railroad to view the Niagara Falls.  Niagara Falls!  Slowly I turned, step by step….inch by inch…. – Sorry!

Then off to dinner at Milestones in the Marriott.  Good food at decent prices.  Quick walk down to the edge of the falls to see them litup at night

and watch the fireworks – they really only last five minutes.

So make sure that you get there in plenty of time.

Headed back to the campground as we were leaving Niagara Falls (Niagara Falls!  Slowly I turned, step by step….inch by inch….) and heading to Kingston in the morn.

I remember the skit from The Three Stooges, but I’m guessing that you are going with Abbott and Costello. The Three Stooges are more my cup of tea

I’m a Stooges guy as well! Although I did look it up when I wrote this and saw that A&C probably did it before them. Vaudeville act orginallly.
