With my injuries bandaged, we left Nashville and headed up to Paducah, KY to visit friend of ours (Larry and Donna Hickey) that we made whilst in Alaska last year.  It was nice pulling into their driveway to camp for a few nights – especially when they have full hook ups!  Had a nice dinner with them at a local BBQ place.  We didn’t get a chance to visit with Donna so much as she was taking care of her mother who was in the hospital.  Get well soon!

The next day Kat was able to show me Murray State University (MSU) where she went to school.  We walked around a bit and Kat explained the changes that she could remember of the buildings.

She hasn’t been back to MSU since she graduated in 1985.  Wow, 34 years ago!

We did get out to the horse barn where Kat spent a lot of her time while in college.  Kat rode horses for MSU and was ranked nationally back in the day!

MSU even has built a new barn!  We talked with some current students who told us that MSU wasn’t as good as they used to be back in the ‘80’s.  Kinda made Kat’s day.

Probably the best part of visiting MSU was when we ran into a guy that was shoeing horses and Kat looked at him and said “Are you Bill Sherman?”  He said yes!  He was the same guy that shod Kat’s horse.  He stated that he had been there for almost 40 years!  He remembered Kat as well:

So much for memory lane as we had to continue our adventures.  It was great seeing MSU and having Kat re-live some of her memories.
