Got into Nashville on Friday a bit late as we had to traverse Atlanta in the middle of the day due to our repairs taking FOREVER!  Stayed at Yogi Bear Jellystone Park – isn’t that cute?  The park was really tailored for kids younger than us.  That day they were having a PJ Party all day and people were walking around in the PJs.

Love the picture of the two bears!

The first night there Kat and I ran downtown to Broadway for a nice dinner at “The Diner”.  Excellent food with a great view of the street from the sixth floor.

After dinner we checked out the local entertainment scene through listening to music and stopping at: The Mellow Mushroom, Tootsies, The Stage and the Redneck Riviera (the band played with an Airstream in the background.

Kat and I loved listening to the local talent.  If we liked the musicians we would stay for the entire set, it not, we moved on to the next band or place.  What a great venue to see and listen to music.  Who knows, someday one of these musicians may be famous!

After sleeping in, Kat and I hang out at the ole Jelly until we met up with Garrett Calhoun and his girlfriend Nicole.  Garrett is Karen Meserve’s son who we knew from Mundelein.  Karen passed away a few years ago and it was great spending a little time with Garrett.  Had a nice BBQ dinner before heading over to the Busse Bus for these picture:

The next day we had a surprise as Matt had an overnight layover in Nashville.  We got to spend the entire day with our future son-in-law!  We picked up Matt and headed out for lunch at the Acme Feed and Seed.

Food was good and the view was outstanding!

Off for a little shopping!  Stopped at Margaritaville and saw these musicians and t-shirts:

Then we went to the Boot Barn to get some new shit-kickers!  Buy one, get two free:

Great look!  I got three pairs.  Had to get my new boot booty back to the jeep so we rented scooters to get there faster.  After dropping the boots off we decided to tour the town with the scooters, we were heading down Demonbreun when BOOM!!! I was skidding across the blacktop on my face and hands.  Ouch!  Ambulance arrived about two minutes later and checked me out – I was still alive.  Cuts (maybe a cracked rib or two) and a bruised ego, but otherwise OK.

Hopefully I’ll be healed up and scar free by the wedding!

That night we met up with Sabrina Acker (Maureen and Peter’s daughter) at Etch.  What wonderful food!

They felt bad for me, probably from looking at my face, and gave me this:

My very own “sorry” dessert!

Besides the mishap on the scooter (we later learned that Nashville has banned them), we loved Nashville.  So much to do!

It looks like you two , and all your family and friends, are having a grand adventure! So relieved you didn’t have more serious injuries!
You know, I’ve never been good on 2 wheels.
Take care and I love reading about your journeys!
