Got to the plane with plenty of time.  Thank goodness that we stayed close – Atlanta traffic sucks!

Once we got to Chicago – first time that I had been back home in almost one year – we rented a car at the new car rental pavilion at O’Hare from Enterprise where we got to see one of Keenan’s buddies from high school, Eliza Webb.

If you have been following along, you might remember that we saw Eliza’s parents up in Bozeman, Montana last summer.

Off to stay with good friends of ours in Lake Bluff – the Ackers.  Thanks Maureen and Peter for putting up with us, oops – I mean thanks for putting us up.

The first bridal shower that we had was hosted by our niece and nephew, Jeanette and Danny at the Ivanhoe Country Club.  We were members there long ago and always thought that it would be nice to have our daughters’ wedding there.  Having a shower there was fantastic!  Jeanette had a wine theme and tasting and also had the shower for couples which was very nice to have the guys included.  It was also great seeing family and friends that we haven’t been able to see in almost a year!

Ari and Jeanette.  Wine theme.

Ed, Kat, Ari and Matt.  Ari + parents with Matt and his mom, Kathy and stepfather, Greg.

More pictures from the exquisite evening:

The second bridal shower was also for couples and hosted by Maureen and Peter and all of our Mundelein friends were there.  This was also a themed party, but this time it was the food and atmosphere of the Maldives – where Ari and Matt were going on their honeymoon.  The most fun part of this evening was the games:

Dressing four guys up like brides:

Bob Dolan won – I guess he said “yes” to the dress.  Darrell Primrose, Rob Joy and I were all losers!  Thank goodness.  Hats (er, I mean tiara’s) off to Bob.

Having Ari and Matt sitting back-to-back answering questions about their relationship with their shoes:

The best response was when they were asked “Who is more stubborn?” and without hesitation they both raised both of their shoes!  I guess that they real are in sync and know each other really well.

Random pictures from the night:

A BIG thank you to Jeanette and Danny and Maureen and Peter!!!!  It is so nice to know that family and friends will step in and host for us when we aren’t there with our own house.
