Ok, I couldn’t find a RV Park in Gainesville, so I booked at nearby Ocala – at least I got on the north side of the city, closer to the University of Florida.  Sometimes finding close RV Parks is impossible, good thing that we have the jeep.  Why don’t RV Park owners build their parks in the middle of cities?  Costs, probably.  Real estate is expensive!

Booked at the Ocala North RV Park in Reddick.  Nice open park that was recently purchased and improvements are on the way.

Jax (our nephew) couldn’t meet up with us until after some of his tests, so Kat and I had to amuse ourselves in other ways.  Keenan told us about seeing the movie “Apollo” and how authentic it was.  So Kat and I ventured out to see it, the theater was packed but we found out seats:

While we waited for the movie to start, I played a quick game of “Where’s Katrina?”.

What else did we do, you might ask?  Well, we looked at an “Active Adult Community” called “On Top of the World”.  I think that that saying was just another way of saying a “Retirement Community”.  The development was huge covering 1,300 acres and has been being built since the 1970’s.  All kinds of activities: golf, pickle ball, tennis, swimming pools, clubhouses, shuffle board, bocce, and the most insane – remote control airplane field.  We looked at some of the models and found the this one:

Perhaps we just liked the name of it?

It was a great way to kill some time and see what’s out there.  We were not seriously looking, although I’m sure that they would have made us a fantastic deal if we even looked interested.

We got a really treat when Jax was available for dinner.  Not only did we get to see Jax, we got to meet his girlfriend, Kat (I know isn’t that a coincidence?) and Darin joined us.

Jax and Kat are sophomores and enjoying the college life.  We really liked Kat and thought that they made a good couple.

Had to get on the road early the next morning to get to the jeep dealer in Orlando to have it looked at as it has been sounding bad since NOLA.  We actually stopped in NOLA at a dealer (because we were there for nine days) and they told us that it was the clutch and they would need to pull the engine out and that they didn’t have anyone working during the week of Mardi Gras.  Orlando is our next stop for an extended amount of time.

Wasn’t she hiding well? It was a great documentary just in it’s final days of showing on the big screen. Glad you enjoy reading about our adventures.
