That’s Panama City Beach (PCB) for those in the know. We stayed at the Panama City Beach RV Resort. Nice place with brick roadways and a heated pool one block off the gulf.
Went for dinner at Schooner’s and got there just as the sun was setting. They fire off a cannon at sunset and we wondered what the heck was that sound. Figured it out when almost everyone left their seats and went out onto the beach to take a photo of the setting sun:
The next day, Kat and I took a nice bike ride into the St. Andrews State Park and walked out onto the beach and around a pond. Check out these photos:
I’m not sure about you, but I’m not swimming in this pond!
We stopped for a quick-lunch and I had to include this picture – now this is retirement!
Met Chuck and Alanna Hansen from Grand Rapids, MI. Had dinner at Captain Anderson’s. I had the Scamp. Never heard of that fish before. It was good – in the Grouper family but milder. Had to take this picture because our future son-in-law is an airline pilot and his last name is Anderson:
I didn’t realize that Ari was marrying into a seafood family.
Alanna told us about a dog beach so the next morning we were off with Bear to catch waves and seabirds. The dog beach was very crowded with people so we couldn’t let Bear off the leash, but he was able to play in the waves a bit under the pier:
Another beautiful sunset:
Had to say goodbye to our new MI friends as we were heading out the next morning. Perhaps we will run into Chuck and Alanna again:
Safe travels!

Fabulous meeting you and sharing camper blunders! Many laughs! I have to say, I am really enjoying your blog. The information posted about New Orleans was invaluable. Because of your recommendations, we attended the cooking demonstration at the New Orleans School of Cooking….loved it. And, we enjoyed the delectable bananas foster at Brennan’s and of course we indulged in beignets at Cafe Du Mode! Hope to see you again on the road!
