After fueling up at Love’s (86 gallons at $3.09/gal and 10 gallons of Diesel Efficiency Fuel (DEF) used to burn clean diesel @ $2.68/gal) we were on our way to Navarre.

I had never heard of it either, but it is right next to Pensacola and offers the same pretty powered white sands.  Made it back into our new home state:

The state welcomed us!

We pulled into the Navarre Beach Camping Park at 3:00pm and the office was already closed because the resort was having a party.  One of the attendants told us which site we were on and to go hook up and then join the party for free beer and ribs.  We have never hooked up so fast.  Good ribs and other foods and my favorite kind of beer – cold and wet.

We had a great site overlooking the beach:

The rest of the RV Park was very nice as well:

We headed over to the Slippery Mermaid restaurant for sushi and we were able to sit outside until we got cold (apparently we are getting thinner skin) and asked to be moved inside.  Excellent sushi and interesting sign:

I’m fairly certain that they were talking about a sushi roll…..

We found a 24 hour/day dog park that Bear was able to have a ball in.  He just loves to play with other dogs chasing them or being chased.  Great way to burn up his energy!

For dinner we headed over the bridge and onto the island and drove west through the Gulf Shores National Seashore state park for miles navigating the dunes and catching glimpses of the gulf.  Ending up in Pensacola and went to dinner at Flounders.  Great shrimp!

Now that I’m reading the coaster, I think I should have gotten chowder – oh well.  And if you are wondering about the “pair”, they own another restaurant across the street.  When I headed to the restroom I saw this sign and told Kat about it.  Of course she took a picture of it and wanted me to include it…

Not sure if I agree with the sign, but I included it nonetheless (I’m no dummy!).

Heading for a much more popular beach tomorrow – Panama City Beach (PCB).  Hope it’s not a total tourist trap!
