Ok, I was expecting Biloxi to be “Africa hot” as Matthew Broderick stated in “Biloxi Blues”, but it wasn’t.  Perhaps the time of the year.

Stayed at Cajun RV Park right across the street from the Gulf of Mexico.  The entire area looked a bit run down and we wondered if it was caused by Hurricane Katrina.  We realized later that it was caused by Hurricane Michael that hit near here last October 2018.  We didn’t remember much about this hurricane as our thoughts were on wildfires as we were still California.

We ran out to Shaggy’s for a seafood dinner and saw this license plate hanging that I had to snap a picture of:

How’s that?

As we have been traveling around I have seen “The Waffle House” restaurants and wanted to stop in for breakfast as I went there occasionally when I lived in Huntsville, AL.  Kat didn’t want to go, so I went by myself:

Not at all what I remembered back in my 20’s.  It’s a greasy spoon!  No wonder Kat didn’t want to go – she’s so smart!

Based on the recommendation from Elizabeth back in Houston, we purchased a book called “Road Food” which points out unusual local hot spots and hidden gems.

We went to Fayard’s for lunch which is located in the back of a Marathon gas station:

I was extremely happy that our sewer line was hooked up when we got back to the Busse Bus!  Not saying that we won’t try another place form this book, just saying….

We didn’t do a whole lot of anything else in Biloxi because we were recovering from Mardi Gras.  On Friday, March 8th, we did celebrate Kat’s last day with Renegade with a nice bottle of Medlock Ames wine:

I’m sure that there is much more to Biloxi, we just didn’t extend ourselves to find it.  Sometimes you just have to relax.

Okay, Ed, you lost me with the frontal shot of “The Waffle House” and sent me over the edge with “behind the Marathon!”

Note: All of us wives are smart. My husband opens the refrigerator and pulls out a 2-day old leftover, gives it a couple of sniffs, looks at me and says “want some”…Nope! lol

Great job on your post…as usual!

At first I thought that I lost you with what I was saying until the read your entire comment. I’m glad you are enjoying our adventures and more importantly my writing. I know it’s a bit much for some….
