Ok, what can I tell you, we are Disney fanatics! Had to go visit the mouse!
Drove down from Long Beach to Anaheim RV Resort separately as we still didn’t have the jeep. Another solo drive through the streets of LA in the Busse Bus. I can tell you that LA did not widen the lanes during the last few days! The dealer put in the new refurbished engine and the “check engine” light came on. Pistons 1 and 4 not working. They needed to check out the issue and get back to us. More rental cars….
Back to Disney. I can tell you that I love going to Disney, but that I am spoiled and like Disney World much better than Disneyland. It is much bigger and offers so much more for the Disney enthusiast. Oh well, when in Rome….
Kat and I headed over to Downtown Disney for dinner and ate at one of the local outdoor places. Food was good, but just walking around in Downtown was pretty awesome. We got to see the place decked out for Thanksgiving knowing that over night it would be transformed into Christmas Disney.
Those pumpkins were amazing spewed out all over the place.
Since it was the weekend we purchased a two day park hopper so that we would be able to go between Disneyland and the California Adventure. Since we knew that we would be gone all day, we had the RV Park people come and let the dogs out. What a nice bonus feature for this park!
Disney, of course, was great! Rode rides, watched parades, drank some adult beverages, show some shows and walked and walked and walked. Here’s some pictures:
And some at night:
These next pictures were taken during the day, they look like they were taken at dusk because of the haze from the California fires still burning 30 miles north of here.
My favorite ride at Disneyland was the Haunted Mansion as they transformed it into “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. The staff stated to us that it takes them about two weeks to complete the changes. Take a look:
It was totally awesome! A saying that I picked up whilst in California ;).
You know it is getting close to Christmas by 1) seeing the transformation at Disney and 2) ending a parade with you know who:
That’s right, Santa Clause!
I could go on and on regarding Disney with 80x more photos, but you get the gist. I love Disney – always have and always will!
Another nice part about being in Anaheim when we were there was that Amy Bouschart from Chicago was at the Conference Center for a meeting. We ran over and got to visit with her for a few hours. Over the past few years when we went to the Chicago Cubs games at Wrigley, we parked our car at Amy and Frank’s house and used their facilities. I called it the piss and park. Not sure if Amy liked the connotation. Here’s Amy all dolled up in my favorite color:
Anaheim and Disneyland were great, but along with that sunshine a little rain must fall. Our rain happened when the RV Park had an electrical surge and blew our transfer switch.
Found a guy that could fix it and he ordered the part from Newmar. Since the coach was still under warranty, it didn’t cost for the part only the service call. Problem was that we were leaving the next morning and heading to Newport Beach. No worries, this guy also services that RV Park. All we had to do was run on batteries and generator until the fix came in. Anaheim RV reimbursed us for the service call so all is good and at no cost!

FYI, for those that receive Ed’s posts via email, it’s still worth clicking into the website because the formatting and pictures are much better on the blog than the email. Merry Christmas to all of Ed and Katrina’s followers and of course Merry Christmas to our Merry Travelers and Bloggers, the Busses. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures.

Thanks Rob! Some people follow to get the notification that I’ve posted a new blog and then go to the site to see it as written. I agree with you that it is much richer in the native format. Merry Christmas from the Merry Travelers (most of the time :)).
