We headed back up the Kenai peninsula bypassing Anchorage and stopped at the Big Bear Campground and RV Park in Palmer, AK.  Kat wanted to see the dog sleds in action so we booked an excursion to fly up onto a glacier where a team and crew were performing summer training for these winter workhorse dogs.  We had to drive up onto a beautiful resort where the helicopter awaited our journey.  Flew over rivers, mountain goats, glaciers ice formations, and mountains:

Both Kat and I got a chance to “drive” the dogs on a track around the top of the glacier.  It was really fun, except when Kat was mushing and I was sitting – scary!

Since it was dinner time we decided to stay and eat at the little restaurant at the resort before driving back down to the Busse Bus and the dogs.  Found an outstanding local brew.

My favorite pie in a liquid, cold and alcoholic form.  Yummy!  Kat drove home…
