After Homer we flew to Florida to establish our new residency.  You see, Illinois only gave us temporary driver licenses when we changed to a Class B (over 16,000 pounds) license.  The actual new ones were supposed to be mailed to us, but since we don’t have an Illinois residence the USPS would not forward.  So off to Florida to move in with Mom Jerger and establish residency.

Easy enough to do.  We now have domicile, driver licenses, and voting cards for Florida.  All we need to do to finish up is to get the vehicles registered there.  Hopefully we’ll be able to complete that task in December when we are back in Florida.  Need to get the title out of the Illinois bank vault first.

During our visit we were able to meet up with Katrina’s side of the family for Uncle Dick’s 90th Birthday celebration!  Happy Birthday Dick!  It was great seeing relatives that we haven’t had a chance to see in a long time.  Even promoted the Busse Bus and got a few more followers.  Set up plans to see some of them once we get to California.

The flights from Alaska to Florida and Florida to Alaska are very long!  What a huge country we live in.  Spent the entire day traveling both ways.  We were happy to get back to Anchorage and the Busse Bus which we had stashed in an RV Park and pick up the doggies from the sitter that Kat found on-line.  Had to get the dogs by 6am Monday because the sitter got a full-time job when we were away.  Tired.
