The most famous Madam of Central City, Lou Bunch, is commemorated annually with the Madam Lou Bunch Day to celebrate her because she opened up her brothel beds to ailing miners during an epidemic. Her and her girls nursed them back to health. 2018 marked the 44th annual event where teams of three (two Dapper Dans and one Sporting Girl) race a brass bed down main street and whoever gets the best time wins. The town was filled mostly with locals who dressed in 1880’s attire and generally had a great day.
All in all I thought that they hit the 1880’s customs “dead on”.
