Roger and Wendy pick us up from Grand Rapids airport and we stopped at Forager for dinner on the way back up to Blue Lake and their beautiful house. We had ate there before and the food was really good!

The next morning we started to pack up the truck so that we could drive back to Nappanee and pick up the Busse Bus II. We packed it to the brim with the “essentials”. That day I got to take a picture of Blue Lake and you can see the leaves starting to change:

We got to take one more ride on the pontoon before Roger put it away for the season. It’s definity getting chillier and we really needed to think about heading south!

On Sunday we headed to Newmar and when we got there and reviewed the paint job we were disappointed as it didn’t seem to us that the plywood panels had been painted. The cabinets looked great and the other minor issues were all resolved.

On Monday the manager came and looked at it and agreed with us. When we return next May they will take care of it!

On our way out of town, stopped at Wood Design to get quotes on some customizations to the Busse Bus II and to pick up the steering wheel table that we had ordered. Unfortunately we got our dates messed up and our table wasn’t ready yet. No big deal as they will ship it to Myakka for us. Can’t wait to see the estimates for the changes that we want to make.

We then drove up to Charlotte, MI and stopped at Spartan to see if they could get our TPMS working properly.

They took the coach and truck for a couple of hours and got everything working! We can now see the truck tire information (pressure and temperature) on the dash of the coach! We continued our journey back up to Blue Lake and the Hockstras arriving just in time to get a sunset picture.

We spent the next few days emptying the Hockstra’s garage, basement, hall closet, bedroom, bathroom and trailer to repack the Busse Bus II! What a PITA!

Got a few more pictures of the leaves changing on the lake.

Unfortunately Wendy’s mother, Ann passed away and we were so glad that we were there to help comfort them. We decided to spend a few extra days there to help them out anyway that we could.

While Roger and Wendy attended to arrangements, Katrina and I wanted to give them some time by themselves so we went over to Frankenmuth, MI for some Christmas shopping.

We started with a little lunch at The Bavarian Inn for some good German food. We got some takeout and ate at an outside table so that Bear could join us. Afterwards to walk around the town.

What a cute little town!

We then headed over to Bronner’s – the world’s largest Christmas Store (their words, not mine).

Having packed up our Christmas treasures, we headed back over to Blue Lake.

Over the weekend I flew down to Houston, TX to attend the Celebration of Life for Lynne Brown, an RV traveling friend of ours whom we had met a number of years ago. It was nice spending time with Stan, Lynne’s husband, reminiscing about the travels with the four of us. It was also nice seeing fellow RVers whom I hadn’t seen in some time.

Lynne’s smile will sorely be missed!

The next day Katrina and I were able to ge some chores done around the house before Joe, Roger’s son, came over and we all went for dinner at Royal. It was a nice dinner and I think the both Roger and Wendy enjoyed getting out.

The next day was the visitation and service for Ann Phillips down in Rockford, MI about an hour south of Blue Lake. Katrina and I decided to take the coach with us so that we could start our journey back to Myakka from there. It was a wonderful service!

Rest in peace, Ann.
