We drove up from Nashville to stay outside of Lexington, KY at a Harvest Host called Woodlog Covert. It was basically a horse farm and we stayed next to the silo.

On our first night there we headed over to Yolanda and Jerry Davis’s house for pizza night. They had also invited other friends over for the evening. We had met some of them on previous visits and it was very nice to reconnect with them.

I think the best part about seeing Yolanda and Jerry is visiting his bourbon bar in the basement.

The next morning with went over to the Buffalo Trace Distillery – excellent luck as they had Blanton’s and Eagle Rare offered to purchased.

We bought all we could!

Great visit! Yolanda met us there and we spent the afternoon on the patio listening to music and having snacks since

they were having “Welcome Back” weekends as they just recovered from massive floods in June.

Katrina and Yolanda met up with her friend Stephanie to do some shopping.

They all get some treasures!

That evening we attended a local Catholic Church’s Oktoberfest fund raiser. Local beers, bands, German food and even a casino. We drank, listened, ate and lost money all for a good cause.

We met up with most of the same gang for a late lunch at El Patio Mexican restaurant. Finally, a great mexican meal! Sorry, forgot to take any pictures.

We returned to the Davis’s house for a late dinner and to watch the Charlie Kirk Memorial. It was absolutely uplifting! What a life Charlie led in the short 31 years he walked on this earth before being assassinated!

We bid our adieus with a somber spirit.
