After visiting Bill’s Saturn plant, we headed down to Nashville to spend a few days there. We stayed at Elm Hill campground

outside of town with no shuttle service to downtown Nashville (like the KOA has). Beautiful place:

That night we headed into Germantown to have dinner at O-Ku, a Japanese restaurant. We had a number of their appetizers and a signature roll. Very good food!

The next day we hit the pool – it was such a beautiful sunny and warm day. After getting cleaned up, we headed downtown to have dinner at The Catbird Seat. It’s a very upscale restaurant that serves outstanding small plates in a U-shaped open kitchen. We got to watch them create each one of the nine course set menu.

Here’s the menu:

Here are pictures of the food:

After a truly wonderful meal, we headed down to Broadway to listen to some music.

We started out at Friends in Low Places (Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood’s place). The place was rented out on the first two floors so we headed up to the rooftop. That area was dead so we decided to move on before we even ordered a drink.

Next up: Posty’s Nashville (Jason Aldean’s place) where we found a seat at the bar. We could watch the band from our seats and the trio was very good. We stayed a watched for a fairly long time.

We wanted to check out some other places so we headed over to Jelly Roll’s Goodnight Nashville (duh, Jelly Roll’s place) where we got padded down to get inside. The joint seemed like a rough crowd so we didn’t stay, guess we are getting old!

Since Laney Wilson’s Bell Bottom Up (yes, Laney Wilson’s place) was just around the corner we went there.

Nice place, but no music at that moment so we ventured out.

Our last stop of the night was Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse (you guessed it, Kid Rock’s place). When we got there the band was really good so we listened until their set was over. While the new band was setting up we bellied up to the bar and split a cheeseburger. Dinner was a long time ago and we were getting hungry! Good burger! The new band was good but since it was getting late in the evening we went back to the Busse Bus II.

In the morning we packed up and continued our journey, next stop – Lexington, KY for a little bourbon.
