We couldn’t get out of Dodge fast enough! We continued our journey to Kansas City to meet up with Steve and Laurie Chubb, fellow Myakkans, and friends that we met during our first Newmar International Rally in Wyoming in 2018.
We stayed at the Elks Lodge #26 outside of Kansas City, MO.

It was a great Elks Lodge with a couple of RV spots along the parking lot with 50 amp service and water available. After we got set up, we headed over to the Chubb’s house for a nice home cooked meal. Steve made an awesome chicken dinner – very yummy!
The next day they picked us up and we headed over to Arthur Bryant’s Barbeque for lunch.

Great place!
After that they took us to Harry’s Country Club for a drink and to visit with Steve’s girlfriend. Here’s a picture of her:

I don’t think that Laurie has anything to worry about! Fun place:

The building next door had these in the windows:

I’m not exactly sure what they were portraying, but it seemed to me to point out the different cuts of meats on a cow which leaves me to wonder about the human picture. Thoughts? I didn’t check out what type of store it was – not sure i really wanted to know!
That evening Laurie had booked us reservations at the Serendipity Farms & Vine for wine tastings and dinner.

Curt and Joan Reynders, friends of Chubb’s, that we had met numerous times before, met us there. What a fantastic place!

We had a wonderful time (so much so that we forgot to get a picture)! The weather was great so we got to sit outside. There was a wedding going on so we weren’t able to walk around all the grounds, but I’m sure that the other buildings were as picturesque as the one above. Very quaint with all the lights at night. It was great seeing Curt and Joan again!
Thank you Chubbs for entertaining us whilst we stopped by! Looking forward to many more memories with y’all! See ya back in Myakka!
