We made the huge move from Palatine to Mundelein (about 9.2 miles) to stay at the Tighthead Brewing Co. which is a wonderful Harvet Host. According to the rules, you can only stay one night unless the business allows more nights. Thank goodness that Tighthead allowed us to stay longer!

They make some fine brews! On the weekends they have food trucks too!

Our friend Kathleen from Delaware came into town to see us and also to get a treatment applied to her hair. What is it with women and their hair? After her treatment we stopped at Wildfire for dinner:

Nice dinner and drinks! And look at Kathleen’s hair!

The next day I attended the internment for my cousin, Betty Wooten. She was interned in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Mt. Prospect. It was a nice service and it gave me the opportunity to visit the gravesites of my parents, my grandparents, and the great grand parents:

Afterwards, I moseyed around Mt. Prospect which the Busse’s were one of the founding families. Therefore, a lot of Busse memorability:

About four years ago we sold my grandfather’s building and in the contract we stipulated that the new building would commemorate him. Check it out:

I even got a picture of Katrina and mine first home:

So much for memory lane…

That night Katie came over to visit with us and we went into Tighthead for trivia night. Katie brought an excellent charcuterie board which we noshed on while trying to answer the questions. Tough competition but we came in sixth! Thanks Katie for the wonderful food!

The final night that Kathleen was with us Katrina was exhausted due to her knee recovery so Kathleen and I headed into Tighthead for their Mexican beer and we got to listen to a gal playing on the patio.

She was actually pretty good!

The last night at Tighthead we were able to meet up with some friends, Bill and Deb at Parea Greek Restaurant in downtown Arlington Heights for dinner.

Good food and great catching up with them!

The next day we packed up and headed back to Camp Reinberg as we had booked multiple stays with anticipation of seeing the kids – then they moved quicker than we thought (and they thought too).
