After leaving Capitol Reef (still don’t know why they called it that) we continued to head east into Colorado with our destination a Harvest Host called Talbott’s located in Palisade , CO.

Katrina captured some beautiful landscapes along the way:

I’m a little confused on the name as the Harvest Host site called it Talbott’s Cider House and Google states Talbott’s Farm Market and Taproom. I think it’s both as the original owners are in the process of selling the establishment to their sons. Either way, it was a cider place made from fruit on their land where they also sell vegetables.

We went in and tried four different hard ciders. I wasn’t too thrilled with the hard ciders, but then I typically don’t like them.

We were going to get the bikes down and go for a nice ride through the orchards, but…

Mother Nature had another thought. So instead we drove to Grand Junction to get Bear washed as with all the heat and dust over the past week he was filthy. After his spa, we hit the grocery store to stock up on some essentials for our next two weeks.

All-in-all, a good stop!
