We had hoped that Jeff and Molli were going to catch up with us in Tok, but they decided to push onward. We were both anxious to get back down south to civilization. We left Tok and drove down the Alaskan Highway until we got past the town of Teslin where we decided to spend the night.

We crossed the border back into Canada and had to answer a few questions.

Apparently we passed because we were allowed to enter. As the Border Control Guard was asking me the questions I chuckled inside because I thought it was like answering the questions from the keeper of the Bridge of Death from Monty Python’s Holy Grail. Since I didn’t want to get cast into the Gorge of Eternal Peril I thought that I should answer them straight up. However, it was very tempting to answer one of them “An American or European swallow?”

It was a long drive down a bumpy road – frost heaves will kill ya! We saw some wildlife (a moose, a black wolf, a bald eagle, a golden eagle and what we thought were five wild horses – turned out that they had collars on) but didn’t get pictures. We did capture some beautiful landscapes along the way.

Not much else to say about the drive. However, the Continental Divide Hotel & Campground was wonderful, check out these pictures of the place:

Ok, my wonderful comment was so much of an exaggeration! The place was a dump, but it was a cheap dump that offered 30Amp electrical service, water, and sewer hookups for $50CAD. That’s like $37 USD!

Up and out early the next morning for another long drive.
