Barry and Rhody Hausauer were supposed to accompany us on our annual trip to our timeshare in St. Martin but unfortunately they couldn’t come due to a court appearance. They had informed us months earlier but we had hoped that the date would change and they could join us. Oh well, the best laid plans….
Katrina and I purchased the timeshare in 1987 when we took our honeymoon to St. Martin. I know what a lot of people think regarding timeshares, but ours has really worked out for us. It has “forced” us to take a nice vacation every year. We love St. Martin and usually use the week at our same place every year. We own the first week of the year at Flamingo Beach Resort which is located near the hopping area of Simpson Bay on the Dutch side. Dutch side? St. Martin is actually owned by two countries, Dutch and French, and each side of the island is very different so it’s like getting two vacations at the same time.
We hadn’t been to St. Martin by ourselves in years and we were excited to explore new places / restaurants where we could take guests in future visits. Kinda self guinea pigs! We found so many great restaurants and revisited some that we hadn’t been to in a very long time. Can’t wait to share them with friends and family.
As usual, since the Busse Bus wasn’t there I won’t discuss much about the trip, but I will include some photographs:

Once we got back to Miami, Barry and Rhody picked us up from the airport (they live nearby) and we headed out to dinner.
