Once we were able to get the resort back to usable we were able to enjoy ourselves and have fun with other Myakkans. It was my plan this year to document each month in order to keep posts flowing and also not to make writing this post so monumental of a task. Oh well, that didn’t happen so I’m going to give you the highlights in pictures and text. Here goes:

Katrina planted a garden. So nice to have fresh tomatoes, peppers, and herbs.

Notice that the lanai is gone in the background thanks to Ian.

We had a “friend” visit that walked along the mangrove boardwalk.

A very hungry bobcat! She also had two kittens with her (photos not shown due to their age).

Luau:

Our table even made a working volcano, complete with lights and smoke.

We had an aggressive alligator that we needed to get out of our lake:

The wildlife guy told us that the alligator would be relocated to a humane farm.

Christmas time – Myakka style:

Katrina’s mom, Rita came to visit us.

Party at the Busse Bar:

New Year’s Eve:

Tiffany Oakley, daughter of Bob and Jan our neighbors, created these for the Busse Bar:

Aren’t they fantastic? Thank you Tiffany!

Working at the cart wash:

Another day, another party at the Busse Bar:

Don’t ask about the arm gestures, really long story and it’s a secret.

Rhody and Barry Hausauer came to visit us in their new to them coach. We must have corrupted them into at least part time lifestyle.

We had a great time with them!

The Poker Run had a “don’t be blue” theme:

So we obliged.

We had a moonlight bike ride down the Cape Haze Pioneer Trail.

The Lake 1 Street was held outside of our casita because we had Vere Hill play for us. We had meet Vere in St. Martin and he was relocating to Sarasota. Great news for us!

Check out Vere’s post on YouTube: Tennessee Whiskey in St. Armand’s Square. It will blow you away!

Every Friday we have a “Meet & Greet”. Some of the girls:

Women’s Fashion Show:

Dinner with our neighbors, Roger and Wendy Hostra at Casey Key Fish House:

Farewell Stacey! You will be missed.

Cosmic Pickleball (after dark with black lights):

The smoke off crew:

Another full moon bike ride:

The Wild Wild West comes to Myakka:

St Patty’s Day at MRMR and at the Celtic Ray in Punta Gorda:

Lake 3 Street Party – “Grease” themed:

Pickleball Tournament at the Pickleplex (real name) in Punta Gorda.

Larry and Katrina take the bronze.

Our daughter, Ariana and Katrina’s mom come to visit:

Ariana joined us on our kayak adventure.

Katrina’s birthday celebration at Visani’s Steak and Comedy Club.

Farewell dinner with Steve & Laurie Chubb, Roger & Wendy Hostra, and Katrina & I at Magnolia’s.

State Party where you make something from your home town or state. Here’s Illinois:

On T & A’s boat with Bear.

We had dolphins following us for miles. Bear couldn’t stand it! Here he is at the beach:

He is so photogenic!

A day bike ride through Venice.

On Jeff and Jodi’s pontoon with Mike and Jeanine Serrino.

Final dinner at Austin’s with the remaining folks at Myakka.

Katrina’s hobby of rock painting throughout the season. Here are some of her creations:

Hasn’t she gotten good? Love the ostrich.

Katrina and I got to go to the US Open for Pickleball.

Final drink at the TT’s Tiki bar in Punta Gorda.

Final sunset for the season from our casita.

As you can see, we had a wonderful season at the Myakka River Motorcoach Resort. We stayed extremely busy and had a real good time. But, our BusseBus has wheels and the road is calling…..
