We drove along the rural roads of Pennsylvania northeast until reaching Marge and Cub Stewarts’ new place that they acquired while we were in Myakka. The Stewarts’ have been coming to the Myakka River Motorcoach Resort for years and we became friends with them about two years ago. They purchased about five acres along the West Branch Susquehanna River and have been extremely busy converting the raw bushy land into a spot for RVs and eventual a garage with an apartment above. They cleared the land, established roadways, brought in electric and water, and planted grass. Check out the beautiful location that they created:

Katrina and Marge having a welcome drink outside of their coach:

We headed out to have a drink at their country club before driving into Clearfield to have dinner at Moena.

We had a wonderful meal and it was great catching up with them. Cub is a veteran and the town of Clearfield honors its’ veterans with banners on their lampposts. We found Cubs:

His picture was from the time that he was in. What a nice tribute!

The following day they had signed all of us up for a ”Taco Tour” which meant we were supposed to hit nine bars and try their specialty taco and drink. We started at the Elks Club where we picked up our cards and paid the $25/each.

Here’s our card for the different places:

Off we went! First stop was St. Charles Cafe:

The tacos weren’t our favorite, but it was a start!

Next up, After Dark:

Great shrimp tacos!

From there we headed over to Mary’s Place:

Good pulled pork tacos with a strawberry jalapeño margarita! Very festive and we got to keep the little sombreros! Unfortunately I forgot my cell phone there.

Our next stop was the VFW:

Good tacos and margarita’s! We called back to Mary’s and they found my phone.

Next up – the 120 Pub & Grub:

After that stop we went over to the Sons of Italy (SOI) club to get a ”walking taco”:

What’s a walking taco? Well instead of a taco shell or tortilla you slit a Dorito’s bag lengthwise and put your fixings in it to eat with a fork. Marge’s daughter, Stephanie, works at the SOI so we got to visit with her while on the tour.

Right down the street was Buster’s, our next destination:

My favorite taco – fish with a tart slaw!

By this time we were pretty tired (and full) of eating tacos so we decided to skipped the final two. However, we did stop at Legends for a picture:

The last stop was back at the Elks for a dessert taco. Not sure how that would be because we didn’t stop. We did however stop by Mary’s:

We headed back to the coaches for a well deserved naps because we had another activity planned for that evening.

Around 9pm we hopped into kayaks and canoes that were decorated with glow sticks to float down river for the next three hours or so:

What a fun experience! So peaceful, abeit a bit scary having never been on that river before!

The following day we lounged around eating, playing games, watching the river traffic, and watching Bear keep the squirrels at bay:

We had a wonderful meal and watched the sunset:

Yummy! Thank you Marge and Katrina!

We took a bike ride the next day on the David S. Ammerman Trail that we could get to from the Stewarts’ place:

It was a beautiful ride on an old railroad track that followed the Anderson Creek. We got about 25 miles in! On the way back we stopped at The Blue Kow for an ice cream:

They had a little playground where I almost killed myself on the spring loaded seahorse!

While Marge and Katrina attended a workout class the following day, Cub and I went to see his hotrod that he had in storage:

It has been his labor of love for 40+years! That evening we headed over to Legends for dinner. Marge and I split the muffuletta sandwich which was outstanding!

We went back to the coach and started to pack up because we wanted to get an early start the next morning.

Thank you Marge and Cub! We had a wonderful time staying with you on your new beautiful spot! We hope you have many happy years there.
