After saying our goodbyes to LeeAnn, Sam, Kirt, and Pam and stated that we would see them all again in five to six months back at Myakka, we drove all the way from south of Louisville to Holland, MI and it took us longer than expected because of a semi accident and the slower pace that I’ve set for myself to save diesel fuel. Since Katrina and I hadn’t taken the Busse Bus to the lower portion of Michigan we wanted to add that area to our travels. We stayed at the Oak Grove Resort Campground which is family owned and a really nice place.

They had a nice dog park for Bear:

And friends that Bear could play with:

Actually, when I took Bear to see the goats he stuck his head through the fence and the goat came and butted him. Good thing he pulled his head fast enough not to get hit!

We had dinner with Amy and Sean Cooper at the Crazy Horse Steak House. Amy was another one of those BeautiControl gals that Katrina knew back in the day. We had a very nice meal that had to include a ribeye – their specialty!

On the way home we stopped at Captain Sundae for some ice cream – yummy!

The following day we took our bikes for a ride along the shores of Lake Michigan. We started at Ottawa Beach at the Holland State Park that included the lighthouse and a nearby beautiful house:

After that stop we rode up to Tunnel Park that had a sand hill and a tunnel through the sand dunes:

What great views of the shoreline! Looks like the ocean to me.

That afternoon Katrina found a place called MVP to play pickleball. On our way over there the place called and asked if we were members. Without being members we couldn’t play. Well, Katrina sweet talked the guy into letting us use the court for an hour.

The next day we did some work around the coach. After the rains our coach was covered with debris form the oak trees – I likened it to ”Michigan Seaweed” because that is what it looked like. It did leave stains on our roof – another chore I’ll have to address.

Sean and Amy came by to see the Busse Bus:

They have Newmar Fifth Wheel that they got from Amy’s parents. Kindred souls.

The following morning we packed up very slowly as we didn’t have far to travel – all the way over to Grand Rapids – 41 miles.
