After a long drive with heavy cross winds we pulled into the Oasis RV Resort in Amarillo, TX. We had stayed at this campground multiple times as it is a great place to park with wide and long spots.

Amarillo is a great stop for us as we have friends there that we can get together with. Tracy Cortesi (BeautiControl gal) and Chuck Moreno always take us to their favorite eating establishments. On the first night we went to Los Braceros located on the historic 6th Street.

The place was somewhat of a dive, but the Michelada drinks and the Mexican dishes were outstanding! Our friends, Pam Mercer and Kirt Warner whom we reconnected with in Moab told us to try the place. When Tracy and Chuck verified that it was a great restaurant we knew we had wanted to try it. Kirt told me that I had to try the Michelada and he was correct.

It was terrific! Thanks, Kirt!

We headed back to the coach for the evening with another night of winds, but not as bad as the previous night in Grants.

The following day Katrina and I got caught up on some work and scheduling until Katrina headed into town to do some shopping at Tracy’s boutique called Trendz. She picked up some Christmas presents.

Friends of Tracy and Chuck, Kent and Ashley Rogers swung by the Busse Bus because they had been looking at recreational vehicles and wanted to pick our brains. Tracy and Chuck joined us for a drink and then we all headed to the Metropolitan – A Speakeasy for dinner.

Katrina loved her steak and my meatloaf was ok. It was a fun evening getting to know Kent and Ashley. I’m not sure what constitutes a “speakeasy” but I didn’t think this restaurant qualified as there wasn’t a “secret” door and/or password.

We said our goodbyes back at the coach. Thank you Tracy and Chuck for your southern hospitality!
