We got up early (4am) in order to drive to National Indoors RV Centers (NIRVC) in Las Vegas in time for them to open and replace our failed rear air conditioner. It was a good thing that we packed up the night before. It still took us about an hour before we were on the road. Driving in the dark in the Busse Bus is not one of my favorite activities but with the new LED headlights it was much better. I’m so glad that I replaced those a few weeks ago! Once we crossed the border into Nevada we stopped for diesel for $3.35 / gallon. We were in California for over a month and only put 25 gallons in our tank. Thank goodness we have a 150 gallon tank!

We got to NIRVC a little after 8:00am and our service manager met us in the parking lot. We had added a few more items in addition to the AC. We grabbed Bear and headed out for breakfast at Farmer Boys and ate in the car. Katrina was rearranging our schedule because the service representative stated that the new AC wouldn’t be in until Monday. We decided to kill time by taking Bear to the local off leash dog park. Once we got there, our service guy told us we could pick up the coach.

We got to the Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort around 4pm, plenty of time to get set up before meeting some friends at the pickleball courts. Since we have stayed at this resort before, we had gotten to know a few people. Bonus having to stay there longer! It is such a great place! Check out our site:

Incredible, isn’t it?

We hadn’t had the opportunity to play pickle in a few months, it was great getting back on the courts and knocking off some spider webs. Katrina and I played together against our friends, Todd and Kim Pittman. Some of their other friends joined in and we got to trade playing partners. Great fun!

Afterwards, the Pittman’s and us went to dinner at Lazy Dog. A great chain with plenty of beers to chose and very decent foods. Since we got up so early we were ready to head home and to bed.

The following day Katrina played pickle early as I got the front of the coach bug free. We got some minor work done around the coach and realized that our satellite wasn’t working. With assistance from the vendor via telephone we determined that a cable was broke and needed to be replaced. The technician that I had on the phone was very unfriendly and not customer service oriented at all! He told us that the only local place that could fix it was NIRVC. Excellent – we will be back there on Monday – just add it to the bill!

At pickleball the previous night we had invited three other couples over for a pot luck dinner at the site that we were renting. What a fun evening! Every couple brought a dish to share and a meat that they wanted cooked. Todd brought a bottle of Booker’s over for me to try – very good! After we ate, Katrina taught everyone how to play Oh Frock!

We had a hilarious time and played for hours!

After another evening of little sleep, we got up to move the coach to another site as new renters were coming onto ours. We got another great site:

Pretty spot!

We lounged around the entire day before heading over to Gera and Bob’s to watch some football. Their place was very nice and they had a man cave to watch games. After Tampa Bay squeaked out the win we headed home.

The next day we headed back up to NIRVC to get our air conditioner replaced. They took the coach and fixed a couple of the bay doors that needed work as we got a bunch of errands completed. When we returned about 3:00pm our technician stated that all the cables checked out on the satellite dish but that it still wasn’t working. He was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer, RF Mogul. Therefore, I called them and got the same pleasant technician on the phone. I handed the phone to the NIRVC technician and he evaluated the guy the same as I did! We decided to start changing out cables (there were four of them) until we found the one that was broken. It was the first one that we replaced – that never happens, right? It was about 5:45pm when he finished. The bad news was that the new AC didn’t arrive so we would have to wait another day.

Katrina got on the phone and booked us for the play “Potted Potter”, a parody of the Harry Potter books.

Off we went to watch to two guys relay all seven Harry Potter books in 70 minutes.

It was really funny! Picture taking was not allowed.

We walked around the strip a little:

Afterwards, we went to Hell’s Kitchen to catch a bite to eat.

What a fabulous place with great drinks and food! We split two appetizers (quinoa salad and Mac & Cheese), each had a drink (I had a smoked Manhattan

and Katrina got the bartenders special), and split the sticky toffee dessert. I’m really digging those drinks! Perhaps I’ll have to purchase a drink smoker.

Thoroughly enjoyed the late meal!

The next day we hung around watching each delivery truck come into NIRVC and hoped that one of them had our AC unit. Just after 1:00pm our service representative and technician knocked on the door with the good news that they could perform the install. Yeah!

Katrina, Bear and I headed out for lunch and found a great little place called Poke Sushitto and got a couple of sushi bowls. Next door was a Five Guys where Bear got a plain burger. After we ate we headed over to the dog park and just after Bear got to chase his toy a few times we got the call that our coach was ready.

We hurried back, paid and we were on the road by 3:40pm. Enough time to drive for a few hours as we needed to be in Albuquerque by noon the next day for the balloon fiesta. Wouldn’t you know it, we hit rush hour traffic that delayed us even more. Oh well, off onto the next adventure….
